Update the mod software

Here, we'll see how to update the mod tool! which is useful if you downloaded the project a long time ago and I've since added features that you'll find helpful.

check if the project is up to date

First, we'll check if your project is up to date.

  1. In your project folder, you have a README file open it
  2. it will display your project version, keep it in mind.
  3. Now go to the "Getting started" documentation category, then to the "Download the mod project" section. Next to the project download link, you'll find the latest version number of the project.
  4. Now you just need to compare the two versions to see if you have the latest version.

Update the project

  1. Now go to the "Getting started" documentation category, then within that, to the "Download the mod project" section. Next to the project download link, Click on the download link, extract the file with WinRAR.
  2. Next, open the folder of your old version of the project. (We will retrieve your already created plugin).
    1. Then open the "Plugins" folder and copy the "GameFeatures" folder
  3. Then go to the folder of your newly downloaded project.
    1. Go to the "Plugins" folder and paste the old "GameFeatures" folder there.
  4. Next, open again the folder of your old version of the project. (We will retrieve your old configuration).
    1. Then copy the "Config" folder,
  5. then go to the folder of your newly downloaded project.
    1. Remove the new "Config" folder and paste your "Config" folder there.

Then launch the project, and in the "Edit > Plugins" menu, reactivate your plugin, then restart the software. The mod should now be installed. You're ready to test the new version of the project!

PLEASE NOTE that some features will not be added. Check each new file in the "ModContentToPickup" folder that was not in your mods to inclue it to your mods, as well as any new features that may be found in each of the Blueprint type files. You can easily compare each file starting with "BP_" by opening them and counting the number of features in the left pane of "ModContentToPickup" and in your mod.
